Detailed Service Descriptions

  • 8 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I

This is a quiet, traditional, and contemplative service held in the historic chapel. This service uses the language of Rite I from The Book of Common Prayer, which retains the classic Elizabethan English (“thee,” “thou,” etc.). There is no music, providing a peaceful start to the day. The service lasts approximately 45 minutes.

  • 9 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II

This is a family-friendly service that uses the contemporary language of Rite II from The Book of Common Prayer. It includes hymns led by an organist and features a slightly less formal atmosphere, often attracting families with children who are attending Sunday School. The service lasts approximately one hour.

  • 11 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I

This is the principal, formal service of the Cathedral. It uses the traditional language of Rite I and features the full Cathedral Choir, organ music, and full ceremonial elements. This service is a beautiful expression of classical Anglican liturgy. It is held in the main Cathedral nave and is livestreamed.

  • 1 p.m. La Santa Eucaristía, Rito II (en español)

This is our Holy Eucharist service entirely in Spanish. It follows the contemporary Rite II liturgy and includes a Spanish-language sermon and music. This service serves our vibrant Spanish-speaking community and is held in the main Cathedral nave. This service is also livestreamed.

  • 5 p.m. “The Well” Contemplative Service

A unique and informal service designed for reflection and rest. “The Well” is a service of Evening Prayer and Holy Communion with a modern, contemplative feel. The liturgy is simple, the music is acoustic, and the atmosphere is meditative. This service provides a beautiful, quiet ending to the weekend and is held in the main Cathedral nave. This service is also livestreamed.
