A Haven for Book Lovers in Downtown Houston
Located off the newly restored Bishop’s Courtyard on the grounds of Houston’s historic Christ Church Cathedral, The Cathedral Bookstore was founded in 1983 by dedicated volunteers with a passion for reading. Since then, the store has provided books of interest to church members, downtowners, and visitors, as well as a quiet haven for browsing and discussing beloved books.

How You Can Help
If your own library is overflowing, we gratefully accept donations of gently used books. These donations support our shop and give back to the life of the Cathedral. We also donate unused or unsold books to various community partners.
