A community that trains the Christians of the future and empowers its leaders
Sunday School
We know that our children and young people are our successors in the work we do in the Church today. For this reason, we are committed to educating them in the faith through programs that guide them to a better understanding of God, the Word of God, the Church, their faith, and their call to be Christians in today’s world. Our greatest desire is that they come to know Jesus Christ well and learn to love Him deeply.
Our team of teachers strives to give their best in every class they prepare for the Catechesis we offer every Sunday.
Our Sunday school program ranges from 3-year-olds through high school or junior high school.
Searching for the Light
Learning the art of self-love and self-care, cultivating and improving relationships with others, and developing techniques for maintaining high self-esteem and self-affirmation and self-worth is an important task. We offer this program three Wednesdays a month so our members can take full advantage of this opportunity.
History and Identity
Understanding the foundations of our faith and the Church is extremely important because it helps us strengthen our convictions, clarify our doubts, and renew our commitment to God, His Word, and the ecclesial community. The History and Identity program was created for this purpose. It is a creative, accessible, and easy-to-understand program.
We offer it on the first and third Sunday of each month after our reception.
A Community that Celebrates and Honors Our Latin/Hispanic Culture and Heritage
We are a diverse community blessed with a rich cultural heritage, and we are proud of who we are and our origins. That is why we strive to keep our religious and popular cultures and traditions alive.
Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month
We celebrate Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month on four Sundays, two in September and two in October. On each of those Sundays, we recognize that the United States is home to people from every country, race, and culture that makes up our beautiful Latin America. We also recognize the culture of our adopted country.
The Inns
This tradition, deeply rooted in the United States and anywhere in the world with a significant Latino presence, is offered every year at the Cathedral and in the neighborhoods where our members live. Every year from December 16th to 24th.
The Nativity Plays
The Nativity plays are the highlight of our Sunday school experience for our children, as they are the actors and performers in the traditional reenactment of the birth of Jesus within the context of the Christmas celebration. At our Christ Cathedral Church, it is a wonderful opportunity for celebration, community and family fellowship, and to appreciate the talent of our children.
King Cake
With the celebration of the Rosca de Reyes (Three Kings’ Bread), we conclude the Christmas season and begin the Epiphany season. It’s a very Latin American way of celebrating Three Kings’ Day. It’s something to see at Christ Church Cathedral.
