Children’s Ministry

At Christ Church Cathedral, we don’t just teach children about God; we invite them to experience God’s love firsthand. Our mission is to create a safe, joyful space where families can grow together, weaving faith into the fabric of daily life until it becomes the very foundation of who they are.
Our How
At the Cathedral, we do our best to meet families right where they are—and we know that “where you are” can look a little different every Sunday morning. We love having children in worship with us, and we welcome their curiosity, wiggles, and wide-eyed wonder. Our pews have plenty of room for everyone.
As you come through the main entrance, let an usher know if your child would like one of our “Worship Bags.” They’re designed to be borrowed, enjoyed, and returned each week. Inside you’ll find a children’s service leaflet, crayons, and a few quiet activities—helpful tools for busy hands and thoughtful hearts.
Because here’s what we believe: when the church hears the voices (and sometimes the squeaks) of children, those same children grow up hearing the steady, joyful voice of the church.
Children’s Sunday School
Every Sunday from September through April, kids ages 2 through 5th grade are invited to be part of something special during the 10:00 a.m. Formation Hour—a time just for them to grow in faith, wonder, and community.
We begin in Golding Chapel with joyful stories, songs, games, and prayers, then head over to classrooms in the Jones Building for age-appropriate lessons and activities. It’s part Bible, part play, and a whole lot of joy!
At the Cathedral, we believe that when children hear the good news of Jesus in ways that resonate with them, they don’t just listen—they engage, explore, and come alive in their faith.

Kids Programs for All Ages
SPARK 2’s
Toddlers
Even our tiniest voices have a place in worship. Our 2-year-olds engage in gentle, story-based activities that introduce them to the rhythm of the church year.

Cathedral Godly Play
Age 3 – 1st Grade
Using the renowned Montessori-style curriculum, children explore sacred stories through beautiful wooden figures and “wondering” questions that help them connect their own lives to God’s story.
- Location: Jones 201–203
Rotation Workshops
2nd – 5th Grade
Faith comes alive through action! Our older elementary students use art, drama, and games to dive deep into the Bible, using the mini-REVOLUTIONS curriculum to see the world through a lens of grace.
