Deepen your faith. Discover your ministry.

Do you ever find yourself wishing for a deeper understanding of the Bible? Are you curious about how centuries of Church history shaped the way we worship today? Do you want to connect your personal story to the larger story of God’s people?

If you answered “yes,” Education for Ministry (EfM) may be your next great adventure.

What is EfM?

Administered by the School of Theology at Sewanee, EfM is a unique four-year certificate program in theological education. It is not just a class, but a small-group community that journeys together through study, prayer, and worship.

The heart of EfM is Theological Reflection—the practice of tying our daily lives and modern challenges to our ancient tradition, helping us better serve Christ in the world.

  • Year 4: A study of systematic theology as you develop and refine your own spiritual practice. (Note: Participants commit to one year at a time.)
