About Evangeline

Evangeline (Eve) Wayne moved to Houston in 2024 from Baltimore, Maryland where
she worked as Executive Assistant to the Bishop’s office in the Diocese of Maryland and
was also Administrator for the Commission on Ministry. Evangeline is a former middle
and high school Social Studies teacher with a passion for historical research. She also
has a master’s degree in human resources management from Webster University in St.
Louis, Missouri. Evangeline was born in Monrovia, Liberia but America has been her
home for over thirty years. She is the mother of four (three boys and a girl) and
grandmother of four (three girls and a boy).
As a lifelong Episcopalian, she is most excited about joining the Cathedral community
because it allows her to continue her journey of “faith with works”, by assisting church
leadership accomplish great things on behalf of the church, which includes ministry that
benefits the community directly as well as championing the church’s charitable causes.
Her hobbies include reading, writing, visiting historical places and watching sports.
