The Installation of Dr. Joseph Causby & Evensong for St. Cecilia

Christ Church Cathedral | 1117 Texas Ave., Houston

Christ Church Cathedral invites you to the installation of Dr. Joseph Causby as Director of Music and Organist, held during Choral Evensong on the Feast of St. Cecilia, patron saint of music and musicians.

This service marks and celebrates Joe’s ministry among us and the Cathedral’s enduring commitment to excellent sacred music, thoughtful worship, and the Anglican choral tradition. Through psalm, anthem, prayer, and the beauty of Evensong, we will give thanks for music’s unique ability to deepen our common prayer and proclaim the Gospel.

Dr. Causby is an accomplished organist, choirmaster, scholar, and leader in Episcopal church music. A graduate of Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, he holds a doctorate in Musicology from the University of Durham in England, where he served as Organ Scholar at Durham Cathedral. He is also a past president and Fellow of the Royal School of Church Music.

All are welcome to attend. A festive reception will follow the service.

Please join us as we celebrate Dr. Causby’s installation and give thanks for the gift of music in the life of the Cathedral.
