About The Event
Join us this Sunday as Dean Katz welcomes Imam Abdullah Antepli — newly appointed President of Houston’s renowned Rothko Chapel — for a conversation about faith, art, and the pursuit of justice in our city.
Since its founding in 1971, the Rothko Chapel has stood as a global gathering place at the intersection of spirituality, human rights, and artistic expression. Antepli, a Turkish-born American imam and one of the world’s foremost voices in interfaith dialogue, brings decades of cross-cultural scholarship and community building to his new role. His work — bridging religious, cultural, and ideological divides — resonates deeply with our own calling as a cathedral community.
Imam Antepli will explore what it means to pursue justice and build community across lines of difference, and how sacred spaces like the Rothko Chapel and Christ Church Cathedral can serve as anchors for that work in Houston.
All are welcome. No registration required.
The Dean’s Hour is a weekly Sunday morning formation and conversation series exploring what it means to live faithfully in a complex world.
