Celebration of the Rev. Kate Mumey

Join Christ Church Cathedral in celebrating Kate Mumey on her very first Sunday as a transitional deacon! The Rev. Mumey will serve at both the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM worship services, and during the 10:00 AM hour the congregation is invited to Reynolds Hall to honor her milestone with treats, gifts, and fellowship.

No registration is required — all are welcome and encouraged to attend.

A New Chapter in Ministry

The ordination of a transitional deacon is a significant milestone in the journey toward ordained ministry in the Episcopal Church. After completing her seminary education, Kate Mumey has been ordained as a deacon and will soon begin her curacy at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Spring, TX — a season of hands-on ministry formation as she lives deeper into her calling.

Christ Church Cathedral has had the joy of walking alongside Kate in her formation, and this Sunday is our opportunity to send her forth with celebration and blessing. Her energy, faith, and love for ministry are already evident, and we are proud to see her step into this new role.

Whether you know Kate well or are meeting her for the first time, come celebrate with us. Light refreshments will be provided, and no RSVP is needed — simply show up and share in the joy!
