About The Event
Join Christ Church Cathedral this summer for a community-wide literary journey. Starting May 25, we invite you to dive into a captivating collection of short stories and engage in thoughtful discussion with fellow parishioners. Our season kicks off with a special virtual gathering on June 15 at 6:30 PM.
About the Event
Spend your summer immersed in the power of short fiction. Cathedral Reads is our annual community reading initiative designed to bring us together through the shared experience of a great book. This year, we are proud to feature Encounters with Unexpected Animals, a poignant new collection by acclaimed Texas author Bret Anthony Johnston. Whether you are a lifelong bibliophile or looking to jumpstart a summer reading habit, this program offers a space for reflection, connection, and deep conversation.
Copies of the book are available now at the Cathedral Bookstore. Grab your copy today and begin reading at your own pace! While the program officially runs from late May through August, you won’t want to miss our virtual kick-off on Monday, June 15, at 6:30 PM via Zoom.
Note: As we move through the summer, stay tuned for upcoming announcements regarding small group discussions, guest speakers, and supplemental events currently in the planning stages.
