Prayer & Remembrance
Christ Church Cathedral is a place of prayer.
Prayer is the heartbeat of our community. We gather for prayer every workday, and we carry the needs of our congregation into our Sunday worship. Whether you are seeking intercession for a difficult season or giving thanks for a life well-lived, we are honored to pray with you.
Ways We Pray Together
Daily Prayer
Join us for prayer every workday at 7:30 a.m., Noon, and 6:00 p.m.
Prayers of the People
During our Sunday services, we read aloud the names of those in need of God’s healing and comfort. These names are gathered via Pew Prayer Cards, staff communication, or the form below.
- Requirement: To be read aloud, we must have the individual’s (or a close family member’s) permission.
The Daughters of the King
This dedicated prayer team commits to a daily discipline of prayer. They receive the full list of “Prayers of the People,” but they also hold space for:
- Confidential requests (those who do not want their names read publicly).
- Active military duty personnel.
- Requests submitted with first names only.
The Book of Remembrance
Displayed in the East Transept, this book honors deceased members who have had donations made in their name to the Cathedral Endowment.
- The Liturgy: Each week, we pray in thanksgiving for those who died during that specific week throughout the years.
- Annual Inclusion: To ensure a name is read aloud each year, a memorial gift (of any amount) must be made to the Endowment during that current calendar year.
