Dear Cathedral Family,

I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Lauren Santerre to the position of Director of Communications and Community Engagement beginning Monday, June 22nd.  Lauren brings with her more than fifteen years of experience advancing strategic initiatives, cultivating meaningful partnerships, and leading high-impact communications across nonprofit, faith-based, and public relations settings.

She most recently served as Senior Public Relations and Account Strategist at Like Minds Communications, a Houston-based firm providing public relations services to mission-driven organizations.

Prior to her work in public relations, Lauren served in leadership roles at Trinity Episcopal Church, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, Brigid’s Place, and Silverado Hospice, where she developed a reputation for thoughtful leadership, strategic vision, deep listening, and community-centered programming.

Lauren has loved studying God since she was eight years old and approaches both faith and leadership through the lens of relationship, curiosity, compassion, and service.  She holds a Master of Arts in Spiritual Direction from Houston Graduate School of Theology, a Master of Arts in Urban Ministries from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Colorado College.

Lauren takes over leadership of the Cathedral’s Communications ministry following the conclusion of Leslie Barrera’s ministry on June 1st.

I hope that you will join me in welcoming Lauren to our Cathedral family.

Sincerely,

Nathaniel Katz
Dean
